Onion Days

This annual celebration was first held in 1929 as an opportunity for residents and former residents to renew old friendships and make new ones. Originally known as the Onion Harvest and Homecoming, the event honored Payson’s status as an agricultural district and outstanding producer of onions. The celebration was later renamed Payson City Golden Onion Days, and that is the name that remains to this day.

Golden Onion Days is typically held each year on Labor Day weekend and includes events such as concerts, carnival, baby contest, car show, 5K and 10K races, parade, fireworks, food, and merchandise vendors.

Payson City Treasure Adventure 2025

Join the Crew of the Red Baron in search of the Captain’s hidden treasure.  Payson City’s Treasure Adventure is an annual treasure hunt in conjunction with Payson City’s Onion Days.  The first to solve all the clues will win the $3,000 grand prize!

The first part of the hunt begins on Friday, August 29, 2025,  This portion will be family-friendly.  Solve the puzzles around the park and test your skills for the main treasure hunt.

The main treasure hunt will start on Saturday, August 30, 2025 after the Children’s Parade at the Bandstand in Memorial Park.

Art Show – August 31 and September 1, 2025

Entries for the Flower Show will be accepted on August 31 from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  To view the divisions and official rules, please click here.  Entry forms will be available at the Peteetneet, 10 S 600 E, Payson, Utah on August 31, 2025 to complete when you submit your entry or entries.
